Leaves on a stream is an ACT mindful meditation that was introduced by my therapist in San Francisco. The idea is to imagine a stream and your thoughts are the leaves. Watch the leaves fall onto the stream and move past you and float out of view. This meditation really helped me through a hard place. It is designed to distance ourselves from our feelings and thoughts (both positive and negative). We are the viewer of the thoughts, not the thoughts themselves.
